The KMP 6080A was Kobalt’s pre-EGO entry into the 80V platform. That line has been largely discontinued in favor of the 24V Max, but there are tens of thousands of these mowers still in service and they’re excellent candidates for a blade-and-belt refresh.
The drive belt under the deck cover — a rubberized timing belt, not V-belt — lasts about five seasons. Blade shaft bearings are lightly greased from the factory; re-grease annually. The throttle cable to the drive paddle is plastic-sheathed and stretches.
