Joe Cox invented the modern chipper chain at his Portland garage in 1947 after watching how beetle larvae chewed through timber. That chain became Oregon — now the largest independent cutting-chain manufacturer in the world. They don’t sell chainsaws themselves; they sell the chains, bars, and files that end up on every other brand’s saw.
Oregon chain ships OEM on Husqvarna, Echo, Shindaiwa, Makita, many Stihl saws (rebranded), most Chinese imports, and all the battery-powered chainsaws from EGO / Kobalt / Ryobi / DeWalt. If you replace a chain and the box says Husqvarna X-Cut or Stihl RM — you’re probably still holding Oregon chain in a different box.
We resell chain loops cross-referenced to Oregon’s 91PX, 72LPX, and AdvanceCut S-series — the three most common profiles in consumer saws. Guide bars are sized to Oregon’s PowerCut and DoubleGuard dimensions. If you’ve got a saw and don’t know what chain it needs, we start from Oregon’s cross-reference and work backwards.
